LessonBench (British Columbia, Canada) follows PIPEDA and BC PIPA principles.
What we collect
- Our web host (Cloudflare) processes standard request data, such as pages requested, IP address, browser type and referrer, to serve and protect the site. Email sent to hello@lessonbench.com is forwarded to our inbox through Cloudflare Email Routing.
- We count visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service. It does not use cookies or store anything in your browser. When a page loads, a small script we host sends GoatCounter the page address and title, the page you came from, and your screen width; like any web request, GoatCounter also sees your IP address and browser details. GoatCounter keeps only aggregated counts: pages viewed, referring sites, browser and operating system, country (worked out from your IP address), language and screen width. It does not store your IP address or full browser string; to avoid counting a reload as a new visit, it keeps a random ID linked to your IP address and browser in memory for up to 8 hours. GoatCounter says it does not share this data with third parties. It is operated from Ireland and stores data on servers in Finland and Germany, so this information is processed outside Canada.
- We also count clicks on our
/go/referral links (which link was clicked, on which page) in the same aggregated way, to learn which guides help readers. We use no other analytics or tracking, and no cookies of our own. If that changes, we will update this page first. - Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which see your IP address.
- If you email us, we keep your message only to reply.
- No email list today. If we add one, we will ask for express consent (CASL) and include unsubscribe in every message.
